Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our fresh markets on Saturdays at Celebration Community Church at 1650 S. Birch St in Denver. Saturday markets are hosted once a month during the school year, usually (but not always) on the last Saturday of the month.

In the summer, Saturday markets are hosted every other Saturday. These markets provide additional food security toward the end of the month when budgets get tight, and throughout the summer when families do not have access to food through the schools. 

In this role, you will:

• Assist in the set up of our market with about 6-8 other volunteers by putting out tables, moving food on carts from our storage area into the parking lot and setting up foods in an attractive, “market-style” arrangement on tables for families to select from
   
• Support families shopping for food, providing an extra pair of hands where needed and providing guidance on quantity of foods available
   
• ALWAYS provide a warm smile and treat others with kindness; overall contribute to a positive and SAFE environment for families and your fellow volunteers
   
• Clean up after the event by breaking down cardboard boxes, disposing of trash, and putting away tables and carts
   
• Please note that while some of this work can be physically challenging, not all of it is. We can still use warm, friendly people to smile, greet, and help to give small food items to families without much physical effort
   
• The majority of the families that we support speak Spanish, therefore knowing Spanish is a bonus but is not a requirement. If you do not speak Spanish, a warm smile and pointing to posted signs in Spanish will still help you to have a successful and fun experience.
