Thank you for your interest in picking up/delivering food from We Don’t Waste (WDW). The food that WDW provides is FREE to The LoVVe Project, and ensures that families in need of fresh food support have access to food that might otherwise go to waste. WDW provides high quality fresh meat, produce, and shelf-stable items that enables us to provide a variety of healthy and culturally relevant foods for families to choose from.
In this role, you will:
- Arrive at the appointment time at the WDW Warehouse at 6090 E. 39th Ave., Denver
- Work with a second volunteer and our WDW partner to select items for our markets following guidelines on which foods to choose and the desired quantity
- Transport and put away food in our storage facility at Celebration Community Church at 1650 S. Birch St.
- Please note that this work can be physically challenging, requiring you to push heavy carts and lift boxes of up to 40lbs.
- All volunteers who sign up for pickup/delivery roles are required to provide a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
It is critical that you are on time at the start of the pick up window (12pm) and communicate any unforeseen issues immediately to the event organizer as soon as possible. Tardiness or missing a delivery window puts our We Don't Waste (WDW) partnership in jeopardy, so please treat this commitment as a high priority.
